The Beginning
Lahhentagge was born in January 2016 when Maarit had an enlightening idea during a walk in her home village of Lahhentagge - she could turn her passion for local herbs and flavours into a gin, the first artisan gin in Estonia.
Lahhentagge lies on the west coast of the island of Saaremaa, in the middle of Baltic Sea. The island is part of UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in the country which already boasts with the second cleanest air in the world.
Our roots
Maarit, an artist at heart, loves to be thorough in what she does, so while the rest of us we started to build the company and the brand, she went to study how to make drinks - doing at first a degree in Finland and then in Scotland.
